1. How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?
Texas law states that anyone 18 years or older (with valid I.D.) may participate in the tattoo process.
2. How old do I have to be get a piercing?
The minimum age for a body piercing (above the waist) is 15 years old with a picture I.D. This also includes having a parent or guardian present with valid I.D. and a birth certificate of the minor.
3. Is the equipment sterile?
YES! All tattoo and piercing needles are single use 316L implant grade steel and discarded to a bio-waste facility after each use. All piercing jewelry is steam sterilized in a medical autoclave which is tested monthly by a medical facility as mandated by the Texas Department of Health.
4. How much does a tattoo cost?
The shop minimum on a tattoo procedure is $80; depending the on size, detail and placement on the skin. Larger tattoos will be negotiated between the client and tattoo professional during consultation.
5. Is getting a tattoo or piercing painful?
At Cedar Springs Tattoo, we provide a fun and relaxing environment to erase the procedure process. The tattoo needles pierced the second layer of skin, causing very minimal trauma. The process is comparable to scratching a sunburn. Piercing needles pierce through the tissue with a medical hollow needle causing very little trauma and minimal to zero scarring. This proves s very fast and not usually painful.

7. How long does the tattoo or piercing take to heal?
The healing time for a tattoo is usually 2-3 weeks with proper care. Piercing can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks depending on the location of the procedure. All your after care needs are met with a verbal instruction on maintenance and a physical after care instruction sheet for follow up. All after care is provided in the lobby for both tattoos and piercings. We carry Vitalitree Foaming Cleanse and salve for tattoo healing.
AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Each time tattooing is performed the client shall receive spoken and
written instructions on the care of the area tattooed.
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
TATTOOING after-care instructions:
1. for at least two weeks, minimize exposure to the sun, discourage
2. properly cleanse the tattooed area;
3. apply antibiotic ointment or cream;
4. use sterile bandage(s) or other sterile dressing(s) when necessary;
5. the client shall consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of
infection or an allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed
infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the
tattoo to the artist and to the Texas Department of State Health
Services, Drugs and Medical Devices Group, at 1-888-839-6676.
